The National Model United Nations is the most prestigious conference of its kind, bringing together 5,000+ University students from around the world. Delegates discuss issues at the forefront of international relations with parts of the conference being held within the UN headquarters itself. The Royal Holloway PIR Society has attended the conference since 2006. we have won Outstanding Delegation on several occasions, notably 2012, 2013, and 2014, placing Royal Holloway in the top 5% of Universities from around the world.
Delegates are trained extensively by the PIR Society in preparation for the conference. Delegates learn transferable skills from this experience such as negotiation, coalition building as well as verbal and written communication skills. We have two Head Delegates that lead the delegation in training and during the conference, as well as our experienced President that acts as overseer of the delegation.
We work closely with the department to ensure that the work our delegation produces is truly representational of the high-standards of the department. We also ensure that each and every delegate enjoys their time during the preparation and at the conference. NMUN offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to see New York and the United Nations from a truly insider’s perspective whilst also taking in every tourist sight possible.
